Wouldn't you and my staff like to know. This is what it looks like: (the penny was included for scale)

This is the reason why I was in the emergency vet on Sunday and had to be transferred to Colorado State University Teaching Hospital early Monday morning. As handsome and as charming as I may be, I am still a ferret - and ferrets do have a habit of causing mischief.
Basically this whole ordeal started with my vomit. Now, when a ferret vomits it is generally not a good thing. It could mean a hairball, influenza, or possibly an obstruction. Mine was because I had an obstruction; the staff and emergency veterinarians did not know that when I was first admitted, but X-rays on Sunday night/Monday morning definitely showed this was the case. There was also a complication of aspirative pneumonia, which also did not appear until Sunday night/Monday morning.
I was quickly transferred to CSU and I had surgery later that day to remove the obstruction. My recovery from surgery has gone remarkably well and I am home recuperating as you read this. I would like to give my love and thanks to Dr. Chamberlin, who performed my surgery and observed me during my stay at CSU. Although he is merely a resident (in a very specialized field), he will most certainly be blessing every ferret he encounters in the future and go on to do wonderful things.
Now, I rest and give my staff a break, because I know I most certainly put her though quite the ringer this past week - Blaze of Glory and Remi missed me too. And check out my zipper! Chicks dig scars right? (Disregard the paler than pale belly...)
